Fire doors are classified by material: steel fire doors and wooden fire doors. These two types of fire doors have some subtle differences in their installation methods and fire resistance ratings. It's crucial to pay attention to these details during installation.

Firstly, when installing wooden fire doors, the door frame size should be 20mm smaller than the opening, and the bottom of the door frame should be embedded 20mm into the ground. The door frame should be securely fixed to the wall and vertically aligned. During installation, ensure the frame is straight and square, avoiding any planing or sawing. There should be at least three fixing points on each side of the door frame, with a spacing of no more than 800mm.

Secondly, when installing steel fire doors, to prevent bending and deformation of the door frame, wooden supports should be used across the width of the frame. The bottom of the door frame should be embedded 20mm into the ground, and then the door frame should be welded to the pre-embedded parts in the wall. Then, a hole is made in the wall at the upper corner of the door frame, and concrete (cement, sand, and expanded perlite in a 1:2:5 ratio) is poured in. The door can be used after the concrete has hardened.

Fire doors have requirements for airtightness:
National standards clearly specify the gap sizes at various joints of fire doors: for steel fire doors, the overlap between the door leaf and the door frame must not be less than 10mm, and the gap between the door leaf and the door frame on both sides must not exceed 4mm. The gaps after fire door installation should not be too large; otherwise, the airtightness of the fire door cannot be guaranteed, and its ability to prevent the spread of fire and smoke during a fire will be compromised.

Therefore, the gap width during fire door installation must be strictly controlled. Installing according to these standards and specifications can, to a certain extent, guarantee the effectiveness of the fire door. Consumers should supervise the construction unit during installation to prevent shortcuts and ensure the fire door functions correctly in case of a fire, thus preventing casualties.
